Summer is a good time to make some gifts for Christmas

Summer is a good time to make some gifts for Christmas. Here you got some ideas from Brantfordexpositor.ca. Flowers may be pressed and later made into bookmarks — perhaps covered with a laminating paper — or even made into a picture which can be framed.
Gather flowers in the middle of the day. Choose ones that are rather flat such as a pansies, and some small ones, such as buttercups, as well as vines and small leaves. Press these between newsprint which will absorbs themois.
An old phone book works well. When they are dry — it will take several weeks — carefully glue them onto fairly heavy paper.
A bottle of herbal vinegar makes an interesting gift. Dollar stores, which are a source of cheap treasures, have fancy bottles that can be filled with a white vinegar and some herbs, such as dill, mint, basil or any combination you wish and left to sit in the sun for a few days until they gain the strength you wish. Then remove the herbs.
If you grow lavender you can pick the lavender flowers and make lavender wands or little sachets of lavender to be put in among clothing.
With tissue paper and leaves you can make special Christmas wrapping paper. Coat the leaf with poster paint and press on the tissue paper. You can also make a stamp by cutting a potato into a special shape and coating it with paint. Make designs all over the paper.
